ONE-OF-A-KIND PEANUTS-INSPIRED COUTURE DESIGNS BY ISAAC MIZRAHI, BETSEY JOHNSON, LAURA BENNETT, KRISTIN CHENOWETH AND OTHERS TO BE AUCTIONED FOR CHARITY

Following the First-Ever “MetLife Snoopy in Fashion” Runway Show -- Held During Fashion Week in New York -- the Original Designs Will be Auctioned on eBay and Proceeds Donated to Dress for Success

WHAT 

A sexy Isaac Mizrahi dress featuring Charlie Brown’s signature zig-zag, a bright yellow feathered Woodstock cocktail dress by Project Runway’s Laura Bennett, a bedazzled Sally frock designed by Tony Award-winner Kristin Chenoweth—these and dozens of other Peanuts-inspired designs by the leading names in fashion will be auctioned off on eBay (www.ebay.com/snoopyinfashion) and the proceeds donated to charity beginning Monday, October 1, 2007.

The designs were unveiled at MetLife Snoopy in Fashion, the first-ever Peanuts runway show held September 7 in New York’s Bryant Park during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.  The witty and elegant couture fashions also include outfits by such pre-eminent designers as Betsey Johnson, Liz Claiborne, Pamella Roland,Heatherette, actress-comedienne Whoopi Goldberg and “The View” co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

Proceeds from the MetLife Snoopy in Fashion auction will benefit Dress for Success, a non-profit organization which promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. MetLife recognizes that the very best and most respected companies are not only successful in the eyes of their customers and shareholders but they are also good corporate citizens who care about the communities in which they live and do business. 

WHEN
The MetLife Snoopy in Fashion Auction will begin on eBay at 7:00 p.m. Pacific time on October 1, 2007. The designs will be auctioned off throughout the month of October.

Jeannie Schulz, wife of Peanuts creator Charles Schulz, to discuss the Peanuts and its fashion-filled history.  
Beth Hirschhorn, chief marketing officer, MetLife, to discuss the impetus for sponsoring MetLife Snoopy in Fashion, including how the insurer is building paths where women walk, as well as details about the charity auction. 
Joi Gordon, chief executive officer, Dress for Success Worldwide, to discuss how the charity auction –as well as a limited edition silk “if” scarf -- will benefit such a worthwhile cause: helping women who have had more than their fair share of “ifs” in life.
