METLIFE TO SERVE AS PREMIER SPONSOR OF LPGA GOLF CLINICS FOR WOMEN

The LPGA Golf Clinics for Women announced today that MetLife, the nation’s leading life insurer and provider of employee benefits, will serve as the program’s Premier Sponsor. As part of a three-year partnership, the Clinics will become LPGA Golf Clinics for Women from MetLife starting with the 2008 Clinic series.

MetLife and the Clinics began talks in 2007 to partner in a way that would put MetLife in the forefront of the established and well-respected Clinic series.  With an eye on diversity initiatives, MetLife saw a great opportunity to reach executive women through the Clinics.  JBC Golf, who owns the Clinics, saw a long-term partner whose values match the Clinics core principles: empowerment of women, support of women in the workplace and engagement of charitable giving.

Jane Blalock, President of JBC Golf and Legends Tour Professional, remarked, “This is an exciting partnership for the LPGA Golf Clinics for Women from MetLife.  We are thrilled that MetLife has chosen to support the Clinics in such a visible way.  With the power of the MetLife brand and the message of the Clinic series, we will make a bigger impact on the corporate world and empower women on a grander scale.”

“MetLife has long been committed to supporting women in the workplace,” said Beth Hirschhorn, MetLife’s senior vice president, Global Brand and Marketing Services.  “With this sponsorship, MetLife is helping to empower women – who often serve as the CEOs and CFOs of their own households – to better utilize the game of golf to enhance their business relationships.”

The 2008 LPGA Golf Clinics for Women from MetLife will stop in 15 markets nationwide this year.  The Clinics are open to women of all ages and skill-levels.  Proceeds from Clinic merchandise sales and a silent auction at each Clinic are donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. To date, the Clinics have donated over $750,000 to the charity.

This partnership will also bring about a new logo and name of the 18-year old Clinic series.
