METLIFE SCHEDULES YEAR-END 2011 INVESTOR CONFERENCE CALL

MetLife, Inc. (NYSE: MET) announced today that the company will hold a year-end investor conference call on Monday, December 5, 2011 from 8 a.m. to approximately 9:30 a.m. (ET).

The conference call and accompanying presentation materials will discuss MetLife's financial performance and investment portfolio, including the company's prospects for the remainder of 2011, as well as for 2012 and beyond. Presenters will include President & Chief Executive Officer Steven A. Kandarian, Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer William J. Wheeler and Executive Vice President & Chief Investment Officer Steven J. Goulart. In addition to the presentations, there will be a question and answer session during the call.

Further information, including instructions for accessing the call and presentation materials, will be announced prior to the December 5th event.

Beginning with the December 5th investor call, MetLife will host two investor events a year to replace its prior practice of holding an annual investor meeting. The year-end event will discuss the company's financial outlook and investment portfolio. A second event will also be scheduled mid-year to discuss the company's long-term business goals and objectives.

MetLife's mid-year 2012 event will occur late in the second quarter of 2012. Further details about this event will be announced at a later date.
